I want to move to a balanced HD800 setup but can't afford to purchased both balanced DAC and balanced headamp at the same time. I was thinking to get a balanced DAC first and use the balanced out to drive my HD800 until I can afford a WA22.

Is it worth a try or should I wait until I can afford both?

I read that already... I guess what I'm looking for is any user that is use it daily and can they heard the difference between SE or balanced out.

My recommendation would be to use the headphone out. Later you can get a balanced amp and balanced cable. The balanced out on these DAC's are not designed to drive headphones, and I personally think the headphone out on my Dac-1 is better than using the XLR outs directly.
