looking to buy a pair of decent, affordable headphones for home use... mainly for listening to dubstep and electronic music in general, and also for gaming. i think im gonna go with the sony MDRXB but i dont know whether to splash out and get the 700s with the biggest driver unit. seems like the only difference between models is the driver unit size and a pretty big difference in price.

MDRXB300 30mm driver unit = £25
MDRXB500 40mm driver unit = £45
MDRXB700 50mm driver unit = £65.

so is it worth the extra money for the 700s?

I am not too knowledgeable but from what I read, the XB series are really bad since they drown out all the sound with excessive bass. I was considering these too because they seemed great for rock and look comfy, unfortunately these aren't too good apparently.

Look into the JVC HA-RX700/900. They are a bit cheaper and much better for Gaming, they both have 50mm drivers too and are supposed to have a lot of bass. Check them out.
