yep, that about sums it up. the most jaw-dropping CD I've laid ears on!
problem is, they're never going to top it. and the way they're heading now with Six Degrees... I wonder if they're going to make something powerfull and surprising as any of their previous work again.
but seriously, when you got SFAM, why bother with other CDs anyway?

the sound quality is strangely flat and lifeless to me anyway.

very true. Portnoy and Pettrucci did it themselves...a halfway ok job on the sound. on Six Degrees they even managed to warp the cymbals and make it sound completely dense...eerily close to 90kb/s mp3's
