I'd like to know more about the Dr. DAC Nano also. This thread says that it's not dead silent (with low impedance 'phones); are there any other problems with it? I'm currently waiting for the Dr. DAC Nano to appear in stores or online stores in the USA. Should I keep waiting or should I buy a NuForce uDAC instead? One thing I like about the Dr. DAC Nano is that it has no volume knob (so I'm guessing that it doesn't suffer from the same channel imbalance issue as the uDAC).
These units have the Tenor USB processor which performs well in my experience. No driver software is needed on the computer so it works with Windows, Mac, and Linux. The AKM DAC specs are way better than CD quality. The output amp is optimized for low-voltage operation and has good bandwith and current output ability. This unit will not support 88.2kHz sample rates on the USB input but that is not a big problem.
