Hi! Just a question regarding the Fiio E6 Fujiyama:

Short Version
Was there any change to the Fiio E6 Fujiyama until now? Just to make sure because I'm almost sure that the one I received from DealExtreme is fake.

Long Version
I purchased from DealExtreme, but I also got one from a authorized reseller here in Brazil that I could verify through the serial that came in the box.

The one from DX didn't have the serial, but apart from that it was really difficult to point out any difference. The box and manuals are identical. The appearance of the device itself is also identical, but I could spot some tiny differences.

1 - The EQ change slider is a bit on the loose side compared to the genuine
2 - The purple LED has a different intensity
3 - A quite strong smell of chemicals comes from the inside, probably the glue they used
4 - The audio cable plastic also has a similar smell

After this, I opened it. The circuit is very similar, but there are some chips and capacitors missing and some other details compared to:

http://www.fiio.com.cn/news/index.aspx?ID=225&page=6

But the audio jacks are quite different compared to the above site. Also, the USB is silver and a little bit different. The battery has the foams on its sides and the same specs are written, but the apperance of the text is different.

Well, so that is my situation. I just wanted to confirm the detail above, but I believe it's fake.
If confirmed, I hope these information can help someone in the same situation.

Thanks,

All I know is the e6 I bought December of 2013 didn't have a chemical smell and the EQ slider was pretty robust.

Mine has now started making static and some hissing noise. It did come without security code so dont know if it is real or fake.

How do I open it up without braking it?
