YouTube - voxtrot - the start of something

Just wondering if I'm crazy. Every time I hear them... I half expect him to say "Hang the DJ"

I love Voxtrot! *unabashed*... and just the other day I was talking with a friend who asked if I had ever heard the Smiths (which I have not). I had just introduced her to Voxtrot, and she described the Smiths as "Voxtrot-like". Whereas you describe Voxtrot as "Smiths-like". So this thread is extremely coincidental. I must get me some Smiths.

I just found out about Voxtrot today, because they're song "the start of something" came on, and I thought, "what Smith's song is this I've never heard it?!" and found out who it really was. Looking up the band I was dissapointed to not see the Smiths as an influential band. They do sound an awful lot like the Smiths, I haven't decided if I hate them or like them for this yet.
