Does the Sony MDR 7506 need an amp for portable player use?

I just purchased a pair of MDR 7506 headphones, and was wondering if I needed an amp for these. It has 63 Ohms, and I'm mainly going to be using it to play FLACs from my phone in public places. From what I've been able to find, it might be a bit too high for optimal use with portable players. I've heard varying things, saying that Ohms aren't enough to judge it on, and that it depends on the individual pair of cans, from it will be extremely quiet, or they'll work just fine. I want to know if using an amp is required to get a good volume and clarity. Secondly, should I get the Fiio E6 or E11? I've heard that the E11 is much better, but the difference might be minimal if the headphones aren't several Ohms. Any help is appreciated.

You don't need an amp, they are pretty easy to drive, easier than the M50 even. Driving them shouldn't be a problem at all with any kind of idevice or any modern smartphone
