Hi folks. I'm curious as to whether anyone knows if the Firebox will output bit perfect data through the coaxial output. The optical output on my MacBook doesn't seem to work, and I don't have time to get it checked out in the near future. My idea is to go from my MacBook to the Firebox via firewire. Then I can output a digital signal into my Oritek OMZ DAC via coax and go from there into my Woo Audio 6 headphone amp (which is arriving this week). Will this output a bit perfect digital signal as the MacBook's optical out would if it worked?

actually, i would like to know as well, being an owner of firebox for recording purposes on my imac, i never considered the quality of the signal coming out from the firebox..
