With all of the various Fi-ers here getting LODs, amps, and high-end phones, I plopped down a measly $10 on a Fiio E3.

My intention is to pair the E3 with my S9 to drive my Sennheiser HD201s without having to raise the volume on my S9 higher than 20 (already using it on 24).

My question is: Is the Fiio E3 ideal paired with my S9 to drive my HD201? Should I be investing in a better amp instead?

There is no point in getting the E3 if you have enough money to get the E5 (10$ more).
The E5 does every thing better than the E3.
And yeah it should make your headphones sound better.
I dont think the hd201 are very hard to drive so any amp should be good.

Unfortunately, $10 is all I can spare for the next few months, so I couldn't even consider the E5 (college gets more expensive after 5 years). Thanks C.
