Ive been getting mixed information on this and I wanted someone to confirm it if possible.  Is there any modding/hacking involved or can I just drag and drop my Apple Lossless Files onto the J3?

Sorry, I don't know if all Cowon's sound the same. Im thinking about getting the J3 because I need the 64 gb. (32 +32)

You can drop Apple Lossless files onto a MicroSD card and the J3 will acknowledge the files (using folder view) but when you attempt to play an Apple Lossless music file it'll just say 'Invalid File'. I know this because I tested my J3 earlier today.
 
I know of no hack to overcome this, but considering the fact that the J3 will apparently play APE or FLAC files, I don't see it as a problem to convert the Apple Lossless to FLAC or APE.

Cowon should make ALAC available to their devices in the future since it is now open source.
