...while others claim to hear a 40% difference [wth does a 40% difference in SQ mean?!] between a $900 and a $2,000 DAC.  Many of the things said on this forum need to be taken with a winter's supply of salt.

Some people also claim that they can hear the difference in USB cables as well. Some people also claim that incremental changes in humidity alters the sound of there equipment (seriously , I've heard this before).
