With the original Titanium x-fi, does the WASAPI windows mixer bypass work with it? It only mentions ASIO for bit-perfect which from what I read happens to be older and maybe serves a different purpose. Also I want to ask if x-fi mixer only resamples when windows mixer is enabled or does it resamble always unless you are in audio creation mode?

It resamples to whatever you tell it to unless the sound being played is already at the target sample rate, if I recall correctly.  WASAPI will work.
Creative's ASIO will only output to the card.  If you want to use ASIO output for some external device hooked up via coax/optical, you would need ASIO4ALL.

My understanding as well. The SRC on that chip is extremely good too; I wouldn't fear it if you have a lot of mixed multimedia content.

Audio Creation Mode can use SRC too.
