My single OP amp circuits are about the same.

Im new to this and Im not even sure what Amp does? Does it give the headphone clarity serving as a sound filter or something like that? 100 dollar budget amp is good enough?

My parents have a Yamaha C5 preamp that has a very robust headphone out... I find it on par with my mint. My HD580 stinks out of my unamped sources. IMHO it sounds very good with my pimeta at 24V (Elpac) with an AD823
