Does headphones benefit from an amp when going through an reciever?

its all relative to that headphone out on your receiver.... and just how good it sounds.

form my experience and my Denon 5.1 receiver, all my buffered amps sound better. My single OP amp circuits are about the same.

Does the A900,Ms-1 benefit from going through an amp?

Im new to this and Im not even sure what Amp does? Does it give the headphone clarity serving as a sound filter or something like that?

100 dollar budget amp is good enough?

You don't really need an amp for those.

Dont know about the A900... Never owned one.

tough question.... you see it all depends on how robust your "unamped" source is.

My parents have a Yamaha C5 preamp that has a very robust headphone out... I find it on par with my mint.

My HD580 stinks out of my unamped sources. IMHO it sounds very good with my pimeta at 24V (Elpac) with an AD823
