That would be good for chart music? Need to be open because I listen to classical music too. Budget of £250. I know people say they love the K70x for classical but I want something that excels at pop music too.

DT880/600 is really good for classical/rock/pop and about the same price as the K70x.

if you are into AKGs, i'd think that you can take a closer look at the K701 little sister, the K601. I found the K601 to be a more satisfying experience than the K601 for longer sessions. My 2 cents...

Totally agree... if I weren't saving for a T1, this is the one I'd get.

I'm not saving for a T1, this is the one i got (DT880) :p lol. Completely satisfied.
note: 600 ohm version

It's annoying that it comes in quite away over budget really at £295 :/

+1. Alternatively get the DT990 for slightly more bass whilst retaining the detailed highs.


Which version of the DT990 is best? And what are the differences between it and the DT880?
