I've been pondering a replacement for my DT880s, and my first set of proper electrostatics suggests that I'm probably better off sticking with dynamic drivers. Considering the low price of replacement HD650 transducer assemblies, I'm wondering how much, exactly, I'd have to reproduce if I wanted to build some HD650s from scratch.
