I've in the market for a outboard DAC. I've been looking at the Cambridge Audio Dacmagic and the Musical Fidelity V-Dac Mkll as prime contenders to buy however I've seen this DAC called the the PopPulse PCM1796 DAC MKII http://www.poppulse.com.hk/pp1796mk2.html The specs on this DAC look pretty good,other than the fact that it's not a upsampling DAC which is what I wanted the rest seems to look pretty good. It's got a PCM1796 Dac just like the V-DAC Mkll and all for about $229.00. about $100 less than the V-DAC or the Dacmagic. So the question is, what do you think of it. Has anybody out there used this DAC. How does it sound with good source material. Needless to say, I'm tempted BUT I've got to have some assurance that It's worth the money and will deliver on performance. Please let me know what you think and what your opinions are in regards to this DAC. For those who own this DAC, how is it working for you? Your prompt replies will be appreciated.
