Yes, but the amount varies hugely with the type of circuit. Generally, anything that is class A, or has significant class A biasing will draw more current when idle than something in class B. Switching amps such as class D and class T amplifiers are consume very little power when idle. The worse current draw when idle offenders are single ended class A solid state gear, and various tube topologies, particularly SET designs.

Okay. So then can you burn and amp in by just leaving it on without any music playing through it?

The amp I'm burning in is the Portaphile V2 Maxxed. It has Class A biasing if I want to turn it on.
