I got a beats solo 2 recently and they had a very little bass.  The sellers asked if the cable can be fault (ebay seller). Then I changed the cable to this cheap able that was laying around. Then the bass suddenly got stronger and the quality kind of dropped (I fee like that). 


If I ask for a new Original cable, will my headphones be OK with the new cable?

or should I return the item? 

I am kind of hoping that the headphones are genuine.

I would travel to a department store near you who stock Solo 2 (must be one close who stock beats) and compare with your own Solo 2. While there you can try the genuine cable on the ones in-store. This will give you a better idea on things such as your thoughts of not being authentic.
