I just got myself the HD 660 S, previously I mostly use the Shure SE846, I decided to get the HD 660 S as I mostly listen to music in the office, and IEM is not comfortable and a bit claustrophobic for extensive use.

So far I think the HD 660 S has amazing clarity, sounds really warm due to the strong mid and very enjoyable treble. I actually like the bass on these headphones, very natural sounding, non-aggressive and suitable for a long sitting. I do hope to have a bit more bass when I listen to punchier tracks, mostly IDM.

The main difference from my experience of Shure SE846 is the soundstage, I find the soundstage of HD 660 S narrower than i expected for an open back.

I read that the DT 1990 Pro has a wider soundstage, I wonder if it is true? Also it seems that based on the review the DT 1990 Pro has longer reach in the bass department.

For those who have experiences with both headphones, what do you think? Which headphones do you like more?

I listen to all genres – jazz, classical, rock, IDM, vocals, etc.

Hope to hear your comments, thanks!
