I have heard that it is hard to get a good seal with the plug headphones and that they are uncomfy, the e2c's however are very comfy and i can get a good seal easily. therefore it would be mu GUESS that the e2c's will isolate more

No. I mean will the e2c's be okay in my pocket because everybody is putting them in there altoid cases....

The shures come with a semi-hard clamshell case that you could put in your pocket. I would not put my e2cs in my pocket with out it though because you could get pocket lint or dust in the canal of the phone.

you will be better off hanging them from your neck or putting them in a case, the tips are made of silicon or foam both of wich can easily grab dust, and dirt. you dont want to stick that stuff all the way into your ear, do you?
