Hey everyone, I'm planning on buying the Audio-Technica ATH A900x headphones for gaming and music on my newly built custom computer. I have the ASUS Z97 motherboard with a built in Realtek® ALC892 sound card. In order to make use of the high performance of my new headphones, should I buy a new sound card? What about an amp or a DAC? I am very inexperienced with this audio stuff and would greatly appreciate any advice on what I should or shouldn't buy/upgrade.

Please let me know if you need any more information.
Thank you for your help in advance!

A900x are easy to drive cans. No special setup needed, just plug them to the audio jack on your motherboard.

If you really need some extra power there are some cheap Asus soundcards with headphone amp.

I already replied to your other thread. http://www.head-fi.org/t/728397/do-i-need-an-amp-dac-and-or-sound-card-for-audio-technica-ath-a900x-headphones

Best to stick to only one thread for the same kind of recommendation. :)
