Do I need a refit for a pair of CIEMs?

Two days ago I received a pair of JH Audio Angie CIEMs. The Angie sounds quite good, but after reading https://theheadphonelist.com/custom-in-ear-monitors-fit-guide/ and some other threads on Head-Fi, I got it to sound unbelievably good.

If I forcefully continue the backwards rotation required to insert the earpieces and move the sound bores of the right earpiece just slightly upwards, I get a noticeably better frequency response, though not as loud. Once I tune the channel balance on my Fiio X5 II to 2 notches towards the right, and I set Angie's left channel's bass two 2 o'clock and the right one to almost 4 o'clock, I get a virtually perfectly balanced and accurate (to my ears) sound presentation. I can't even describe how good the Angie sounds then... maybe like witnessing heaven.

Unfortunately, if I am to enjoy that sound, I have to keep the earpieces pressed to my ears (especially the right one; the left one can keep the fit for quite a while). The JHA cable that came with the Angie has a piece of plastic that slides along the two channel cables that I can move up toward my chin and if I secure the forceful fit I described with that piece of plastic by pushing it all the way to my chin, I can keep a good fit, though not as good one as when I'm keeping my fingers pressed.

A couple of other things I think are worth mentioning: if I achieve the aforementioned sound, I do get some slight discomfort while I wear the CIEMs, but no pain. The first time I inserted them (and these are my first pair of CIEMs), I got no discomfort and they fit in quite well. Another thread on Head-Fi indicated this might indicate the CIEMs are too small and I'm not sure what I think of this. On the one hand, I did have the ear impressions 3D scanned, so I sort of expected a very good fit on the first try, but on the other hand I did lose some weight (went from a EU waist size 32 to 29 in a month). That wight loss was rather unforeseen and it's quite unlikely I'd be able to put the weight back on.

Also, I never felt the proverbial vacuum seal and without the fit adjustments, if I wag my jaw, I fell the right ear piece sticking and unsticking from my ear canal and moving back and forth. The left one doesn't always do that.

All in all, I'm a bit perplexed, because I had the ear impressions 3D scanned, I don't really lose the seal while moving my jaw, and I do eventually get extremely good sound, but I do have to make a lot of adjustments with the earpieces, especially the right one. Should I send the Angie back to JHA?
