Sorry for asking this question for the 358th time, but I am wondering what I will gain sonically by buying a MG Head OTL amp? I currently am using my Senn HD-600s directly from the headphone output of my Sony C555es SACD player. To me, it sounds simply incredible and can reach earsplitting volume at only the halfway volume level.
How much better would these headphones sound by adding a $330 amp? How would the sound change with the amp?
Thanks for your help!

It kinda depends on how good the headphone jack of the 555 is. I know Flumpus has a 555... maybe you should ask him how good the headphone jack is, and if a MG Head would be an improvement.

The jack on the 555es is clean and can get loud, but it doesn't have enough power for the senns to truly shine. get an amp.

Holy ****! Unfortunately, I am used to a stereo fixed dual solution. As it is, teamwork is required for the maximum communication and not reality. In the meantime, suck my SS!

Why do you ask for advise and then act repulsed at the answer?
Loudness is not all there is to good audio. Lots of amps get loud when turned up. You will certainly like the change of sound with the addition of a good amp. Headphone amps are designed to work best with the load a headphone applies as opposed to the load a speaker applies to a loudspeaker amp which it seems like you are using now.
Some home amps simply add resistors to the power amp and some have opamp drivers for the headphone amp. I have an older Denon Single ended home amp and although it is good for speakers my headphone amps are much better. The distortion figures of my headphone amps are much lower than the Denon could ever provide and I can't afford a home amp with the quality of my headphone amps. The MG Head does not have the specs of my home amps either, but it is a tube device. I have heard reviews of the MG Head, but don't really trust the reviewers enough to buy one either. There are many other amps available I have heard and like however.

That's definitely my guess. You know, like when you're on IRC or using AOL IM, and a friend comes over and types a bunch of obviously fake BS just for fun.
