Do different dacs sound different loud?

Yeah, different DACs have different output levels. People tend to think the ones with higher output sound better. :rolling_eyes:

The Pavane outputs 2V RMS while the 2Qute outputs 3V RMS.

So 2V looks standard right? I never thought about this but isn't this a useful tool if your amp doesn't have that much power? Where can i see the output volume of the dacs?

It's useful if your amp isn't strong enough. You can find the information usually where you'd find the other specifications. 3V is a bit high. I think they're generally around 1-2V.

2V is a Redbook standard for CD players. Some manufacturers play on common perception that louder is better. They know that showrooms do not do level matching.
