Do Bryston preamps have good headphone sections. I mean good enough to make having a headphone amp unnessary even for hard to drive cans like the hd-600?
I listened to the Bryston with my 600s, and thouth it did well. Much better than the Denon rec. I had at that time. It's probably as good as a lot of low to mid priced head amps i've heard.
Get the Bryston and try out ASLs add on UHC Signature to convert the Bryston. I have never tried it but it's a new product from Antique Sound Labs. http://www.divertech.com/antiquesl.html#HEADPHONE
What would be considerd by most people on this forum to be a low to mid priced headphone amp? I'm not looking for a specific model, just a price range. someone just posted that they thought my bryston might be just as good as a low to mid priced headphone amp. I was wonder what is a low to midpriced amp?
I tried headphone jack on BP-20 of my friend's. I was not impressed. My friend was of the same opinion. We prefer Creek OBH-11 SE. He is considering to get Creek, I believe. BTW, we tried Senn HD 600, 580 as well as Grado. We didn't get good result with any of them on BP-20.
