okay i am about to buy some at-a900's and i want to know if they benafit from a amp (cmoy) and if i will get louder music

well the amp will amplify the signal so the music will be louder if thats what your asking

what kind of amp are we talking about because it makes a difference, a maxxed out PPA will sound much better than a cheap cmoy. also the A900's are hot in the headohone fourm right now, perhaps you should sort through there and maby repost the question there if you cant find anything

yeah they sound better when amped, but it really depends on the source

They will only sound better if you need an amp with your source... ie. if you use a EMU 0404 you need an amp for the analogue output, so yes they will sound better with an amp, and the quality of the amp will also effect sound.


If you don't need an amp, say with just an audigy 2, then it will make them louder but not SOUND better, just amplify the sound.

I second the post about having a good source with the a900's before the amp, and a 0404 will make those babies sing like nothing you have ever imagined.
