i have saw and used all of those in my day

and the rp1200 is by far the best

rp1200 is also waterproof, kinda dumb, but sweating is something to deal with....

so
it has very bloated but still deep bass
which is good for beat mixing

and very functional
and gluegun
yes pretty much same reply

are the rp-dj1200's avaible in Canada for under $100 CDN? that's quite good value for a dj's headphone. r3cc0s is right: they're splashproof, so you don't have to worry about melting during an 8 hr marathon set.
:)

(Here in Australia the rp-dj1200 retails for ~US$120)

I would also forget about the sony dj-v250 etc... not enough isolation and not very rugged.

El~Zapo:
consider also technics' rp-f550e, it may more likely be in the right price bracket.

IXOS Ministry of Sound DJ1001

These are highly recommended at http://gear.ign.com/articles/307131p1.html

- my only prejudice is that the reviewer appararently found it natural to compare them to tv v700 "the best dj-phone out there"

Thanks for your help everyone...

Some of those were out of my price range, but I'm looking through these right now:

IXOS Ministry of Sound DJ1003 (not quite as loud, but still has same features (plus its cheaper and looks nicer IMO))

Sony MDR-V6

Technics RP-F550 (not a likely choice)

get the v6 with beyer pads

your beste choice by far

the ixox ministry of sound
I don't like at all

very muddy bass

1001 even... the 1003 was horrible to what I heard

I think even the denon ahd-950 is a good choice as well

but yea
get the v6 and buy velor pads

When I listened to the 750, it only took out a *little* outside noise. and the two are mostly built the same, and a lot of other people say they don't attenuate enough too....

besides, do those even fold, any way? I forget...

no they don't fold

and they block enough noise

haha
I wonder if anyone ever used ety's for one ear monitoring for djing

anyways

yea
the V6 is better with velor pads at almost any price
as they are very verstile

however the technics i would second

Well, on the Tranceaddict forums, I recommended ER6's to one DJ who wanted some airplane headphones for under $150...and I asked him to try DJing with them, just for kicks, privately or something.

Hmmm. That'd be interesting to see...

Trancegeek of the Tranceaddict forums (he's canadian, I believe) says that "etronics ships fast" and he recommends them. He also loves them! He told me he REALLY REALLY thinks that his brand new V6's are awesome, and he can't wait for the pads to come in....

Heheheh....
