Silver cables are the most common ones.. you can try to mix the cables yourself to see what produces the best sound for you.

Hmm, im also attempting to diy a cable but with jh/westone pins. I was considering scscag but decided it was to expensive, im gonna buy fine round silver wire from jewelers and sleeve it myself. (Got the idea from Parrots-Thanks!) Try this
