Hi every DIYers in the UK!

I am about to start my very first project, which is to DIY a phono - phono cable

However I don't know where to buy all the stuffs that I need, I buy the soldering kit off eBay, I think the kit is ok, have everything that I need so far.

I am wondering where do you guys buy the bulk cable for DIY?
I don't need anything expensive at the moment as I'm still a newbie, I just want to buy some cables and plugs to practice and build up my skills.
Copper cable is preferred.

Can anyone, please kindly recommend some websites for me to start off with

If you looking of cheap and cheerful ebay,

for exotic hificollective,

electronic components heatshrink etc rscomponents

or theres alway maplin.

I've started building my own cables and scored a load of pure silver wire which i use with cotton or ptfe for interconnects etc.

I bought my solder station of ebay for a very reasonable price its got variable heat setting and works very well. The tips on the iron are interchangeable so i bought another couple of different tips for different work.

Canford is good for bulk, but shipping is £5 minimum so make it worth it.

Location Technical Facilities Ltd. Home Page Is good for Canare stuff and some other wire.

As said above there is Maplin.

John's Wire Shop (NavShips) on ebay is good for wire, very reliable, great guy to deal with.

Any chance of a link? I use them but after searching for about 15mins I can't find it.

I like Van damme stuff but 70p is half what I pay even for that....
