I have been looking at some datasheets of the recently introduced BB PGA2310 wich is pin and software compatible with the CS3310.

The PGA2310 is a digital volume control inteded for professional and high-end consumer applications.

It uses -+15V Analog and +5 V digital.

Has anyone tried these chips in preamp / headphone amp projects.

The problem is that these chips are controlled by a controller or
microcontroller (pic) and that this means that it would be controlled via infrared remote control.

Is there someone that feels up to looking into this further, since the specs of these chips are very good. Maybe better that a standard high quality volume control.

The 1000+ qty price for the PGA2310 is approx 5.75 USD.
