I just picked up my first DAC on eBay, mostly to enable playing music from PC. DAC is diyeden svdac01 plus.
When compared to Original CD2008, it seems to reach less deep in bass and overall less detail is noticable.
I opened it up and noticed that it has two 100u cheap electrolytes in series right before the analog output, coupled with cheap foil caps. I guess they were necessary to block DC, as OPA134 had quite some DC voltage at the output, but since I replaced those with AD825 earlier, out they went.
I can see some other potential for mods, but would like to hear first if someone has already gone this path before shelling out some cash.
