Anyone ever dipped their toes in diy speakers or subwoofers? I just built some 88 specials for my LCR home theater as well as a sealed um18 and this is the closest I've heard to high end headphones as far as the ability to reach clean loud spl with very little distortion and great extension at both ends.

I love the tactile feel from speakers but have never been very impressed with clarity, frequency response, extension, or soundstage compared to hp's like the he-400, he-500, he-6, lcd-2, and hd700.

Well these speakers change all that. They have excellent soundstage and precise imaging, get incredibly loud and tactile, smooth and balanced frequency response, and don't sound like they are breaking up and losing composure approaching reference levels.

Definitely worth checking out if you haven't already!
