Hey guys,
Just did my first audio DIY project. 2 jumper cables for my Harman Kardon 3490 receiver, going from the pre amp to the amp. I made them out of 24awg 4n silver, with 4 switchcraft gold plated rcas. I found that the bass thump was more controlled, the mids were more forward, and the highs extended. Is this the usual for silver? So far im really liking it. Another question-i have my polk m5jr+'s hooked up to my harman with 15awg copper, is there any place to get silver plated(solid silver im assuming would be too expensive)reasonable cheap, and what gauge would i need for speakers 4 feet away from the receiver? Thanks
Fin

Congrats.  Cables are the gateway drug.  That seems pretty common for silver.  For parts and wire by the foot, try partsconnexion.com.  For speaker wire, depends.  Start with some 14ga, which is pretty common.
