Hey guys I have a pair of Westone 3s that I recently dug out of my closet. They have been broken for the past 2 years, the wiring is pretty much destroyed and the the shell housing is cracked on both sides. Essentially what I am left with are the drivers which still seem to work just fine. I know there are a lot of posts out there about reshelling IEMs into customs but I was wondering if anyone as ever done a DIY reshell? I saw on ebay a couple of classifieds for DIY housing and shells as listed below. Most of them seem to be for the Shure SE535 but I saw one that said it was designed for the W4R which I believe is pretty similar in shape to the W3. Does anyone have any experience with doing something like this or know if the sound change drastically with these different shells?

Due to my internet being a piece of crap at the moment, I can't really do a search and share the link with you, but I saw somebody from Singapore did this DIY custom reshelling with his Shure SE215. You can probably Google it and see if you can find it, right now I can't. I think he did something like combining drivers from SE215 with SE535, which sounds crazy to me for a DIY-er.
