My college's spring break is Mar 9-13 so I'll have some time at home to mess around with a soldering iron. And since I still have some money left in the bank I was thinking about a few projects I'd like your advice on:

1. Upgrading some of the internal wiring in my B22 to shielded silver plated copper (the wires that go from the input to the pot are really long and go right over the power supply, I think they'd benefit from shielding). Also hard-wiring some of the hookup wire to eliminate the molex connections, to improve sound.

2. DIYing a balanced Sennheiser Headphone cable. (I'm using a balanced stock cable now) I will use the DIY Cardas plugs and Vampire XLR's.
--But what wire should I use? (I can not afford Jena btw...)

3. DIYing a power cable (just for the fun of it, have always wanted to)
--Was thinking about using the VH Audio Star Quad cable, would it be worth it vs. their basic 12 gauge shielded twisted pair?
--Also thinking about using either Furutech FI-15ME/Furutech FI-15E or basic brass Wattgate plugs. Would the Furutech be worth the extra money?

Thanks for any and all advice!
