Are there any communities around specializing in DIY effects pedals in the same way people around here are into amplifiers and whatnot? I'd imagine there is, but wouldn't have the slightest clue where to start looking ... (lots of bored electrical engineers around at the very least, heh)

I noticed this while looking for caps earlier today:

Small Bear LLC , many unique parts at very good prices.Geared towards "stompbox" guitar effects but definately of interest to any DIYer. Thanks Erix

It is from the sticky thread at the top of the DIY forum -- DIY Resources. It looked like they had how-to's in addition to parts. I don't know about the community part.

A couple of BBS's

Aron Nelson's: http://www.diystompboxes.com/pedals/index2.html

AMPAGE's Effects forum: http://www.firebottle.com/fireforum/...fg=fx&enter=go

A couple of good info/schematic sites

GEO: http://www.geofex.com/

AMZ: http://www.muzique.com/

A couple of builder's sites

http://www.moosapotamus.com

http://www.runoffgroove.com

And some general pedal craziness
