To DIY-ers there, may I ask why would a headset compatible / made for iOS devices is not compatible with android devices? (I'm referring to the remote)

I'm sure it's not about the jack because there's only two classification:
TRS = standard jacks of normal earphones / headphones

TRRS = jack used when there's a remote / mic attached

*please notify me if I posted on the wrong thread..
