Hey guys, its been a little over a year since i last posted, but i finally did it! I have successfully made a custom cable with silver wire, a pallics plug, and a REMOTE AND MIC for iphone built in! have a look! 
 
 

 

 

 

 
next project will be making a 3.5 mm TRRS male to female extension cable with braided wire and sexy plug

That's really neat! I'm dying to hear where you got that inline remote. I have searched far and wide for that, but could only find fake iPhone remotes. Yesterday I built this cable and even though it works, I'm not satisfied with the aesthatics. The black inline remote would be much better, so where'd you get it?!

i Used and iLuv earphone cable and took it apart with a blade. I cannot for the life of me find diy remote parts

How do you find it affects the sound quality of the silver cable, having it interrupted by that pcb?
