Ok so here’s my story. I had a cheap pair of Skullcandy GI's until my little sister sat on them (same story with my model aeroplane!)

I decided to salvage the drivers and stick them in a homemade case, steampunk styled to be precise, and unfortunately through stupidity i broke one of them, soldering iron through mylar job

So i am left with a case I put loads of love into that is suitable for drivers that are round and have a 40mm diameter. I was wondering if someone could help me chose a new pair and answer a few questions?

Firstly, is the only difference between rare earth, ferrite and neodymium magnets the flux strength?

And finally what is all this impedance i keep hearing about and what does it do to speakers?

Oh oh and what is the power output of a standard mp3 player? Im looking to avoid amps.... for now

Love and hugs badgercow
