I bought some Silver Sonic BL-1 cable and Cardas GRCM RCA plugs, as recommended by Hirsch in this thread: http://www4.head-fi.org/forums/showt...threadid=37030
There are 3 wires in the BL-1 (red, black, and bare stranded wire). My question is, which wires go where?

I am unfamiliar with the cables but it would make sence , Red (right) Black (left) and bare ground. But i am only guessin.

Er no, this is a balanced cable, for those who have +,-, and ground connections for each channel. If you don't have that, use two for the + signal and one for ground.

red black i guess, it is a balanced cable, so there's 3 wires.
a better diy cable IMHO.

I just talked to a guy over at DH Labs, and he said: Red = +, Black = Ground, and Bare = Ground on one end only. He said they usually run the end with 2 grounds from the source. Guess I'll do it that way. Thanks for the replies!

One of the grounds is the shield (the bare one), and the other is the true ground. Does the bare wire appear to be tin plated?

Yes, I think it's tin plated (the bare wire). The red and black wires are silver plated.
