Just got some Senn HD497s yesterday and the cables plug into the earpieces with std. 1/8" mono plugs. Only problem I see is the plug housing, finding one small enough to fit into the earpiece jacks. Has anyone done this before and found a suitable 1/8" plug?

One possibility is to get some 1/8" mono jacks that have an all plastic housing and just pull the plug from the housing if possible. Not sure if there are any readily available plugs made like this, though. And you'd have to use heatshrink to give the headphone housing something to grip when inserting the plugs. I was thinking about doing that at one time, and that was the only thing I could think of.

I've used this one before. It's cheap and well built, however the diameter is around 5/16":

Thanks for the pointers! I have a local Calrad distributor that stocks a decent amount of Calrad P/Ns. I will have to head down there next week and see what they have.
