I've ordered the CKK3 kit from jrossel but I've decided to build a cmoy or 2 first. I've got
2 cmoy boards and parts on the way. Thanks to all. I should have the stuff this week. I'm ready to roll.

Wise decision, because setting the CKK3 output transistors' quiescent current will drive you nuts because of the BJTs positive temperature coefficient nature.

Good decision IMO. It'll give you good practice and leave you with a nice portable amp.

Yeah, setting the output transistor quiescent current was a BIG PITA. Just remember to case it up when you set it! I didn't and had to go through the whole process again cause it was getting much better cooling sitting open on my desk.

Make sure you let us know if you need help and especially when you finish it! We want to see this

Okay, maybe not, but its great when you get all the bits you were looking for. I agree though, 90% of my time was spent figuring out what to change(and why) and where to get it from (and how to get it). Putting it together is the fun bit, but its a matter of a few hours once you have all the bits. Jeffs kits are great though. You can't go wrong, he has a solid parts list and you can always change out a few caps down the line for that extra lil bit. I'm going to order a few more alien dacs from him soon, and just get some caps later on.

x2 on the mini^3 though. its just an order from amb and mouser(or d.key) to get a fully functional amp (- the battery). I also think putting a parts list together is good experience for when you get to bigger stuff. you could always post your list here for refinement or PM me, I got a mouser BOM with custom part numbers and quantities all ready to go. (ambs shop is easy too)

Knowing where the parts are available online and getting into the groove or sourcing these parts can be intimidating. No worries. I wish the parts were available locally as wel, but I think you'll find that the favorites around here (Mouser, Digikey, Jameco) are excellent and trusted online vendors. Just take it slowly, and read through some fo the threads realting to what you want to build.

As for me, I always have a D'Oh moment a few weeks after I receive parts as I always have forgotten something. Ah well. I continue to fund FedEx and UPS on a regular basis.

Yes, he certainly does

I have a mini3 kit on the way from glassjaraudio & it was mucho smooth making a couple tweaks to his BOM (e.g. I had a compatible wallwart already)... Just a few business days from initial contact to shipped kit (just like the SOHA I ordered from him a while back).

Although I've worked on my personal BOMs & placed several orders for parts (Mouser, etc.), I still think Jeff's kits are a real time-saver & single-point shipping is very cost-efficient too.

BTW, I just ordered the Accupower 270 9v for $8 w/free ship from batteryspecialists.com, we'll see how that goes...

anysite that sells the whole kit for mini3?i tried glassjar but he wouldnt ship outside europe so i dont know where else to order from.
i also tried amb's shop and i will order the y1 and 2 parts from it but i dont know where to get other parts and will ship internationally.
 
also its a bit confusing to order all these parts that are not available at amb's shop for a noob like me.
any help please?
