i have a couple of 3-pin XLR connectors and want to make an AES/EBU cable for my incoming DAC. i have some mogami 2534 mic cable, but i'm not sure it's the right cable to make the AES/EBU cable...i read that AES/EBU cables need 110 ohm specs...so i guess i'll need to pick up some mogami 3080 or similar, correct? if i were to use the 2534, would that be a problem?

thanks in advance for any answers/suggestions...

For a short length digital cable, the 110 ohm spec won't matter much. So try using what you have on hand until you get the correct spec cable.

Note: 1 or 2 meters is short. Over 10 meters is long.

okay, thanks for the input, guys. i have a few xlr cables on hand and will give that a go (they're 2 feet long)...i can build an AES cable, but i don't want to have to buy 50 feet of bulk cable...maybe i'll pick up a cheap one in the f/s forum...
