Hello guys, hope you can help me!

I decided to rip one of my favorite cds, Donnie Darko OST (the film is also highly recommended

). So I used EAC + LAME 3.97b, everything was ok but when I listen to the mp3s on my computer and ipod, there's a slight distortion in the background, which is not there on the CD!! I hear this only on some tracks but it's really annoying, especially when you turn up the volume. My question: how to eliminate this distortion, and make a perfect rip without considerable artifacts?

Thanks for you help once again!

Did the EAC log file report 100% and no errors? If you use EAC and rip to WAV, do you get the same background noise? You are using two seperate applications to create the MP3, so it's best to split the problem in half to identify the source of the problem.
