I usually rip my CD's using Audiograbber and Lame. But I've been experiementing with other apps like MediaMonkey and Easy CD-DA Extractor. I was hearing a bit of static/distortion every so often that I assumed was a bad cable or connection somewhere, always meant to isolated it but never got around to it. However I've just realised its in my rips not in the cables.

Ripping 320 CBR using Audiograbber & MediaMonkey gives the same result, on my test file I get a distortion at the same point. Ripping with FLAC give less static but also at the same points. But ripping using Easy CD-DA Extractor 320 CBR or FLAC doesn't have the problem at all.

Whats going on?
