Generally, Etys need to be inserted more deeply than, let's say, Shures do. While Etys isolate well, I found the seal comes and goes, even while just sitting in an airplane seat and moving my head from time to time (haven't used foamies with my Etymotics yet -- just with the Shures). While the Etymotic shirt clip should certainly help the microphonics problem, maybe something like the Shure E3's, or even something cheaper and more "fun" (Sony, Panasonic or JVC canal phones) would work better in your situation.
