I read an interesting post about sound cards on another forum. It was said that some humming experienced when the volume is turned up from the amp(without anything playing in the background) is due to the amplifaction being done twice, the actual headphone amp and the sound card. If this is the case, I'd like to know if it's possible to disable the soundcard from amplifying the signal. I know I get humming.

If this is totally erroneous, disregard this post and uh...point me in the right direction.

Audigy 2 ZS with opamps replaced.

You will not get humming just because the Audigy doesn't have a true line out.

You will get humming because of a ground loop, or bad grounding.
