Well, I could never get the Bithead to work with either ASIO/KernelStreaming. So I am given two choices
1) Kernel Streaming/ASIO -> Stock Computer Sound card (average quality) Headphone out -> Bithead used as AMP ONLY -> Headphone

2) Direct Sound/Wave out-> Bithead used as both DAC AND AMP -> Headphone

Which do you think should sound better?
Thanks

Option 2 by a long shot.

I use my TotalBitHead either with direct sound (iTUnes) or with the USB-ASIO driver. ( www.usb-audio.com ) from foobar. My laptop does not have much of a hard disk. I use iTunes and mp3 files for travel, when I am on vacation, I bring a portable hard disk full of FLAC, a USB 4 port and run foobar/asio.
