Do you know of any specific examples? Every single LP from that era that I have ever seen carries the RIAA logo, even FFRR records. NAB would have been for radio transcription disks, right?

I can't find an RIAA logo on any disks, maybe it's an American thing as in Europe we also call it CCIR, but I don't see that logo either and I do have a few US pressings from that period.

I think you just have to use your own best judgement. I'd say early Rolling Stones on Decca sounds more correct with an FFRR curve anyway.

NAB was used for the 16" broadcast disks yes.
